What have i got myself into, there’s a reason something is “free.” So far i can tell that it needs a new front glass (it’s not worth replacing the glass + digitizer which is the right way but cost wise you might as well buy another 2g iphone). The missing antenna cover, the missing antenna(!) and possibly the antenna wire. At the moment the cell phone is not working, though it barely comes in and out so i’m hoping that’s due to the antenna issue. The wifi does work if i hold it just so, using myself as a giant antenna :). Getting it to accept ‘my’ sim card was the easiest part of this project.
Surprisingly, even with all the cracks on the glass the touchscreen still works, and i tested Skype (to test the mic and speaker) and those are working too. The headphone is no good though, i might just live with that since fixing it is a little too involved.
